THE  DESIGN   PROCESS

Landscape II employs 3 full time Registered Landscape Architects.  When you call or email to schedule an appointment, one of our architects will set up a time to meet with you at your site.   We offer free consulations in Centre County area.

At our initial consulation, we will take a look at your project and discuss ideas.  It is helpful if you have measurements, plans, or thoughts of what you are looking for that you can give us when we meet to move the process along.  We will provide you with either an estimate of what the design services will cost or if you already have a plan in mind, we can offer a price for installation.

Landscape II offers full service installation on all of our projects.  The benefit of hiring us to do your design and installation of your project is that there is a seamless transition from idea, to design, to implementation.

The Design Process and Pricing

Site Consultation
Landscape II offers a free one-hour consultation for clients that live in the State College Area.
Each additional hour on site will be billed @$75.00/hr. including travel time.

Design Imaging: Landscape II uses an advanced Landscape Imaging program that can give you a three-dimensional
perspective of what your landscaping will look like. This is a great tool for understanding the power of curb appeal!

Preliminary Design: This is a scaled drawing that includes the preliminary design features of the new plan. Items included in this may vary, however, typically include all of the “bones” of the garden…(i.e. fences, decks, patios, walks, walls, bed lines, and critical plantings).  This does not include all plants, specifically seasonal and perennial plantings.

Master Plan: This is a second phase plan completed after the preliminary plan has been approved. This includes plantings and specifications of the hardscaping…(i.e. paver and wall choices, fence and trellis details, etc.) This includes choices of trees, shrubs, and critical perennials.

Detailed Plans: This is typically a second or third phase plan that is completed after the designated areas have been defined. This plan includes specifications on all detailed areas. This is important in decking design, intricate hardscapes and/or perennial and cutflower gardens.

Design Fees:
First hour of consultations: N/C (locally)
Design Imaging:$100.00 per image
Site Analysis: from $60.00 up to $240.00 (if extensive)
Preliminary plan:starts at $250.00
Master plans: starts at $500.00
Planting plans: starts at $200.00

Hourly rates are used to compute the final cost of designing your plan and a design contract will be presented to the homeowner before the plan is started

Preliminary plans can usually be completed within several weeks of the initial consultation depending on the time of year. Spring is the busiest time for design work and our lead times may vary. Fall and winter planning is appreciated and spring implementation may be scheduled.
Implementation

One of the benefits of using Landscape II as your designer and your installer is the advantage of constant communication between the two parties and yourself.  The designer usually makes site visits as needed and our experienced crew is the most detail-oriented team in the area.  We strive for perfection and have built our reputation on over 30 years of satisfied customers.

We offer a discount on the plans if Landscape II is hired for installation of the plan.  We will offer 5% off of the cost of the installation up to 100% of the plan fees.
